The Go-Go Boy Sonnets: Men of the New York Club Scene is
a sonnet sequence celebrating the icons of gay New York and attempting
to satisfy interest in these men by telling their stories with humor
and honesty but respect as well. It relates real-world lives to performance
and depicts interaction with patrons to emphasize that there is more
to the men than beauty. Each man is represented by a sonnet and a
biographical note. When appropriate, there is also a translation of
the poem. The book of one hundred sixty-seven English sonnets and
accompanying biographies, seventy-five translations (into twenty-four
languages), and eighty pages of glossaries, indexed, and other text
was published in January 2005 and is available from Inkwater Press
(6750 SW Franklin Street, Suite A, Portland OR 97223-2542). A follow-up
edition, illustrated with photographs of the actual guys, is planned.
